Malawi
Lilongwe Society for the Protection and Care of Animals
The mission statement of the LSPCA is:
“To create greater awareness within Malawi for animal welfare issues for both domestic and farm animals. To support the enforcement of legislation by local authorities, help improve on current legislation and provide veterinary care and support for local communities and all rescue cases”
Lilongwe Wildlife Centre
Situated in the heart of Malawi’s capital city, the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is a wild animal rescue, rehabilitation and education facility.
RSPCA
The RSPCA has worked with animal welfare organisations abroad for over 150 years providing training, grants and support. They respond to emergency situations and lobby inter-governmental conventions to ensure that global standards of animal welfare are agreed and are not undermined by trade rules.
Grenada
Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
The GSPCA is one of the oldest societies in the Caribbean. Their programs include low cost and free spay/neuter clinics, feral cat programmes, education programmes, vaccination clinics, volunteer vet schemes and community outreach programmes for unwanted, abused, neglected or stray animals. They travel the island with their mobile surgery van when volunteer vets are available.

Karuna Society for Animals and Nature
The Karuna Society is a registered non-profit organization involved in animal care and organic farming in Puttaparthi, Central South India.
India Project for Animals and Nature
IPAN is an animal welfare organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty towards animals, the improvement of health and welfare of domestic and wild animals. They aim to protect the environment and by so doing improve the livelihood of people depending on its balance and well-being.
Mexico
Conciencia y Protección Animal La Cienega
A family run charity, Conciencia y Protección Animal La Cienega’s main mission is to improve animal welfare. In their region there are a large number of domestic animals living on the streets, suffering from parasites, disease or injuries and in bad condition. There is no government animal control centre and so CPAC provides population control for the community as well as providing a much needed resource for any animal that needs help. Nothing gets turned away.
Thailand
Care for Dogs
Care for Dogs is a wonderful non-profit animal shelter located in Hang Dong, Chiang Mai, Thailand. They provide sterilisations, food, comfort and shelter to the numerous homeless dogs located around this part of Northern Thailand, currently looking after in excess of 140 animals.

Elephant Nature Foundation
Founded by Sangduen “Lek” Chailert, the Elephant Nature Foundation works tirelessly to preserve and protect Asian elephants. It is a sanctuary for Asian elephants, cows, water buffalo, dogs and cats in Northern Thailand. They also run educational and volunteer programmes at the park to educate people about captive elephant occupations in Asia.
Peru
Amazon Community Animal Rescue, Education and Safety
Despite being the “eco-tourism capital of the world,” the treatment of domestic animals in Peru is extremely poor. Animal safety and anti-cruelty laws do not exist or are not enforced. Amazon CARES was the first animal rescue and shelter in Iquitos, Peru and the entire upper Amazon region. The charity seeks better health and living conditions for all living beings of the Peruvian Amazon region. This includes appropriate care, respect, and protection from cruelty and neglect.
Nepal
Himalayan Animal Rescue Team
HART is a relatively new charity, established in February 2009. It is in Pokhara where they provide the only provision for animal welfare in the city. HART has established an Animal Birth control programme with the aim of controlling the street dog population by humane means rather than the current method of poisoning. It provides educational visits to schools and colleges, runs community outreach programmes to the Tibetan settlements surrounding the city and provides a much needed and valuable resource to any species of animal in need.
Zambia
Lusaka Animal Welfare Society
The main objectives of the society are to engage in and promote animal welfare activities and to aid the prevention of cruelty to animals in the areas of Lusaka Urban and Lusaka Rural. They are the only domestic animal charity in the capital city and work tirelessly to protect dogs and cats that are suffering, neglected or abandoned. They run comprehensive rehoming and adoption programmes as well as large community outreach and vaccination programmes.
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation
DSWF is an adaptable and flexible, non-bureaucratic organisation responding promptly to conservation threats by supporting trusted, reputable individuals and organisations operating in the field. Lean on administration but generous on funding, DSWF supports a range of innovative, vital and far-reaching projects throughout Africa and Asia.
Munda Wanga Environmental Park
Munda Wanga is an Environmental Park that is comprised of an Environmental Education Centre, a Wildlife Park and Sanctuary and a Botanical Garden. The Munda Wanga Trust has been running the Environmental Park since 1998. It has been rebuilt from a run down zoo to a modern facility that provides Environmental Education to the young and old.
Uganda
Uganda Society for the Protection and Care of Animals
The USPCA was registered as an NGO in 1998 and has set the precedent for animal welfare groups all over Africa.

Rhino Fund Uganda
The RFU was created to reintroduce rhinoceros to Uganda which have been extinct since 1982. Their 70 square kilometer sanctuary in pristine bush country is currently home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda. Their long term goal is to build a sustainable rhino population and relocate rhinos back to their original habitat in Uganda’s protected areas.
Chimpanzee Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservation Trust
CSWCT are among the leaders in chimpanzee-focused environmental conservation, providing excellent care of rescued chimpanzees and whose aims are to promote the understanding, appreciation and conservation of chimpanzees and their habitats.
